Welcome to the valley of a hundred waterfalls! The Predelica (or Predelnica) stream carves a steep path down from Predel pass to the village of Log pod Mangartom. While canyoning in upper Predelica, you enjoy a whopping 11 waterfalls in which you can slide, jump and rappel! The waterfalls here are higher and more exposed, which makes Upper Predelica an intermediate canyoning experience.
We leave our van at the parking lot where the road for Mangart (the highest road in Slovenia) begins. After an easy, 20-minute walk, we encounter one of the pools they call an ‘emerald eye,’ and this is where we enter the canyon.
This canyon’s natural beauty is absolutely amazing, with its emerald water, white rocks, and green forests. The waterfalls range from small to spectacular; in fact, our Upper Predelica canyoning adventure finishes with a wild, 33-meter vertical waterfall!
We have to be honest with you, you probably won’t like the 40-minute hike back to the car, but you won’t remember that when you tell your friends about your day! This really is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you don’t want to miss!
